A handmade coaster with original Artwork by April Alayne available just in time for the holidays!

This coaster is handmade by April herself and by hired local crafters in her neighborhood.
Each coaster is carefully put together with love and care! And each coaster purchased helps an independent artist be employed for the season.

These ceramic coasters are 4.5 X 4.5 inches and sealed with a protective coating. The backs are hand cut soft 100% black polyester felt and provide a cushion and non scratch backing to protect your table tops.

These coasters make a wonderful gift and recommended in sets of 4! You can have a nautical theme, a beard theme, a woodland theme or simply pick your favorites for you or family and friends. They make an interesting conversation piece and a unique collection for your home.

“Lavender” for Alexis.

Hello everyone! Say hello to Lavender.

© April Alane 2012

Lavender is a part of my girls collection. Commissioned by a lovely lady, Lavender is a design to compliment my Forgotten Crab-apples piece.

This design represents sorrow and a reflects a bit of sadness. Not only is she influenced by Celtic symbolism she is also strongly influenced by floriography, like most of my girls.

Both designs will be used for tattoos for Alexis that her tattoo artist will modify to his or her comfort.

This finished tattoos -hopefully- will be shown on Facebook

While I am on the topic of commissions and tattoo designs, Alexis has paid for both designs for her and her artist to use.

Finding the right tattoo artist is KEY to duplicating my work. While it would be nice to simply walk in to a shop and say “Hey you there! tattoo this on my body!” it doesn’t really work that way. Every tattoo artist has his or her own style so you should look for and artist that is fantastic with portraits.  Do some research, remember it is forever.

As I do appreciate when people use my illustrations for a tattoo it does raise the question of “stolen work”. I take it as a compliment always and forever first (truly I do!  “Can I get your artwork permanently on my body?” Uhh! yah! What an honor!) however in order for me to keep creating lovely designs for you all I also need to help keep the art alive.

If you would like to use a design or have some ideas of your own please feel free to contact me! I would love to hear  from you. And also take a look at my shop!

Thanks everyone and have a great night!

All about the Apple. Iphone case pizzazz.

So here is an idea I have been toying around with. Since everything is all about iphone and bedazzling them to their finest why not spruce them up with artwork?

Here are some examples of what I would be selling.

An Iphone case with original artwork designs by April Alayne? Not to shabby an idea I think. Something a little original for your phone.

Any requests or ideas on the topic?? Please feel free to share!
And If you would like to order one please let me know by shooting me an email

I hope you’re all having a wonderful day!

Forgotten Crab Apples

This is the newest illustration in the collection.

I call her “Forgotten Crab Apples”.

Like other she is strongly influenced by symbolism by animals and floriography.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful night!

Always,

April
