Adventure to Jazz & Blues Wine & Art Festival in Historic Federal Hill!
Baltimore gathers to share their talent and drink some tasty wine!
Yesterday was a rocky start.
Starting with going to bed late and then waking up to thunder and rain, then making the horrible realization Chi-fil-A wouldn’t be open to please our taste buds with the scrumtrulecent “chicken minis” (damn you Sunday!) then getting lost and ending up in Dundalk having to pay a 4 dollar toll! Nathan Kelly (a dear friend and a wonderful help) and I were super worried the rest of our day was going to follow in the same direction.
We made it to the venue on time and alive and my a Christmas miracle actually pulled in the ally (this thing was MASSIVE) where we needed to be! We set up shop one down from the main road and met out wonderful neighbors! The people to my left were a lovely couple!1/2 of that couple Stephen Kishel created large metal sculptures. Super friendly and very talented. One of my favorite pieces He created was a red metal Japanese fish! So unique! To my right was a painter and his son. They were also very friendly and had great advise to share with me. MT Goggs (mtgoggs@aol.com) was an amazing artist. I loved his stylized painting of Michael Jackson!
My time was good there! I created a new antler girl and a couple new paintings for the show. My antler pieces always stir up a lot of ruckus! I hear everything from “I have to have that” to “how unique” to “that’s so funny!” (i don’t really get that one but hey we are all different!) to “wow, thats just… disturbing” and even grunts and looks of disgust. I find this to be a great thing. If a discussion is born about something I have created I feel I have accomplished something worth while.
I wish I could have taken more… but here are some pics from the day!
