Tales of the Wild

Tales of the wild

This is a commissioned piece I have completed for a delightful company in Vancouver.

Tales of the Wild

A company I have worked with in the past.

Their store is about as wonderful and charming as the family behind it. Vancouver 001

After completing the above piece they asked me to create something for their Woodsman natural product line and I happily agreed.

Vintage Curves

Vintage. Vintage. Vintage.

We all have a love for vintage these days.

Being a lady of curvy nature this sometimes can be difficult and somewhat frustrating  when shopping for these unique items.

I know my DDD girls are more then likely not fitting into %50  of whats out there…. ok more like %85 who am I kidding here.

I have been spending a bunch of my time on my new Etsy shop Threadoverheels working to solve this issue for my curvy soul sisters.

Thread Over Heels is mainly dedicated to sizes 14- 22 whether is be vintage, up-cycled, or hand made fashion. Not saying there is never a smaller sizes, I have sections dedicated for all sizes, but more focused to the voluptuous dames.

The shop is also dedicated to other vintage finds and accessories such as scarves and umbrellas and such. In addition to all my sewing creations!

I add new items daily! And I would love your love and support!

Have a great day everyone and thanks!

Always,

April

1st Craft show….and on to the next one.

So…

Last weekend I did a show with the DC Spring Thing hosted by the Craft Mafia. After staying up till 2 with the help of my wonderful boyfriend, Steve  finishing up Slumber Jacks and peg boards we made sure we were ready for the show! We jumped in a packed truck around 6am ate some Chicken Minnie’s (Try them… at chick-fil-a…holy crap so good) listen to some Florence and the Machine and arrived to the parking lot at 8:30! Right on time! A first for us!

Aside from the parked car in our space at the event and the dc driving in general, set up was a breeze after the car was towed! Sorry guy… you were warned.

The people there were absolutely wonderful and made this easy for a 1st timer!

Jessica Blaszczak was right next to me with her adorable shop called This Little Piggy!! It was so hard not to buy them all up! I was Lucky to have her next to me! Across the ways was the lovely EHL Creations  so nice and her photography is fantastic! Also the very sweet and talented Lucia Tschen Hamilton was down a bit!! Her husband hunted me down to purchas my Anter Art Puro RockNRoll, I was so flattered! And even Cthulhu chick behind me even offered me Sunscreen! Everyone was great and I would be honored to do another show with them!

Not expecting such a great success last Saturday (being my 1st show and all) I am playing catch up with my items and prepping for my next show:

The Wine & Art at Sunday’s Jazz & Blues Festival

SO MUCH PAINTING TO DO! I hope I can at least get 2 more Antler pieces done before then!

Also I have been a busy buy bee working on my jewelry to Spruce up my Etsy! I need 4 sales to make my June goal! And I hope I make it! Perhaps free shipping? or a gift to the next 3 or 4?? hmmm? Let me know what I can do for you! 😉

Hoping you have a wonderful night! I am off to eat some yummy turkey and rice. Be jealous.

Always,

April!

May 11th… what am I up to?

Posted on

On May 11th 1987 around 2am  my dear sister  Kimberly (or womb mate as I like to call her) and I emerged from our mothers full belly and today we celebrate!

Well, actually I don’t know what she is up to but my celebrating involves putting real butter on my toast without guilt and not doing my hair or makeup…these things please me.

I have been a busy bee working on all sorts of new items for my shops and bulking up old favorites  for the DC Craft Mafia Spring Thing Craft Show! This will be my 1st ever craft show and however nervous I get my excitement will overpower! I have been rocking out some new jewelry with the wonderful help of my talented friend Lauren! I will blog about it when I have finished the whole collection. Also I have been focusing more on my Antler art! Trying to make them smaller, portable, and more affordable! And, as always, Slumber Jack. I have been working on Slumber Jack Jr! Thats right… baby Slumber Jack.

They will all be available in DC on the 21st!
